The Biz
Theatre School presents
A Tale
as Old as Time
to raise
money for local children’s hospice

Due to overwhelming public demand,
The Biz is proud to announce its summer school and production for
2010 – Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”.
Presented by one of Surrey’s most dynamic youth theatre companies,
and featuring the same professional team that brought you last year’s
acclaimed sell -out run of Fame The Musical, The Biz Theatre School
and Biz Productions are proud to present one of the most popular
and delightfully romantic stories ever told. Nominated for nine
Tony awards, this eye-popping musical has been wowing audiences
world-wide.
Featuring an Oscar winning score,
Beauty and the Beast brings us the fabled Disney magic, charm and
enchantment for the whole family. Once again presented with a cast
of 50, a full orchestra and fabulous West End style scenery and
costumes, this is a show not to be missed!
Now into it’s 11th year, The Biz Theatre School, based in
Woking with a branch in Epsom, celebrated its 10th Birthday in style
last year with a superb production of “Fame” at the
Leatherhead Theatre raising over £3,700 for Chase, Children’s
Hospice.Following their last
five sell-out productions, The Biz have raised over £17,000
for local Surrey Charities and over £14,000 in total for CHASE
from their last four productions.
The Biz has earned its unrivalled reputation as Surrey’s leading
youth Theatre Company by consistently delivering outstanding productions
and attracting the best young local talent. Last year, a professional
production team, full scenery and costumes and top West End professionals
in the orchestra allowed the young cast, all from Surrey, to shine
in this well loved musical and hopes were high from the outset to
beat the previous year’s charity donation.
Director and producer Erika Vincent
and musical director Richard Cartmale will return to direct Beauty
and the Beast and will be joined by choreographer Kimberley Fletcher.
The production team are all West End professionals with vast industry
experience and knowledge to help bring out the best in the exceptionally
talented cast once more.
Director and principal of The Biz Erika Vincent commented, “We’ve
always been so grateful for the community support and we are thrilled
to be able to give more money to good causes each year. Beauty and
the Beast is such a fantastic show and we have every confidence
that the young performers will impress us again this year.”
The young performers will rehearse for only two weeks and the course
is so popular that there are only a few places left. The intensive
two week course will be on Monday-Friday (plus performances on final
Friday and Saturday) 9th – 21st AUGUST 2010, culminating in
4 fully staged performances at The Leatherhead Theatre. The Biz
is delighted to return to the wonderful 500 seat professional theatre
in Leatherhead this year. It has played host to so many major stars
in its history and boasts Sir Michael Caine as its Patron.
If you missed last year’s production,
be sure to book seats early for their 2010 show as tickets are expected
to sell out. Ticket prices are £16.50 each and are already
selling fast, available from
