Fencing parts of Chobham Common

In order to meet Natural England's requirement that Chobham Common be returned to 'favourable condition' by the end 2010, the Surrey Wildlife Trust will fence certain areas for grazing cattle between March and September each year (with some flexibility depending on the weather), over a period of 10 years. Gates and / or squeezes would be installed in the fencing to provide access to paths. The fencing would be removed in October. The corner posts, the large intermediary posts and gates would be permanent fixtures within the relevant period.
