Boating The Byfleet Boat Club Ltd, The Boat House, 4, Old Parvis Road, West Byfleet, Surrey KT14 6LE The club has a busy social and cruising calander, plus moorings, dinghy compound, workshop and clubhouse on the Wey navigation. We have ten sturdy and stable rowing boats that can seat up to five people.
.. Boats are provided for hire, with one set of oars, and lifejackets are available if you need them. A choice of routes on the Wey Navigation can take you as far as Pyrford Lock, by the Anchor pub, or to New Haw Lock, or to Lock 1 at Woodham on the Basingstoke Canal. The club is open for boat hire on Satur-days, Sundays, and public holidays starting at the Easter weekend, through until the final weekend of September. The first boat out is at 10am, and all boats must be back by 6pm. Advance booking for one or two boats is not necessary. The cost is £8 per hour per boat (seats five). A £20 returnable deposit also ap-plies. If you have a group of people wanting to hire several boats, special group rates apply, and you should book in advance. If required, boats for groups can be supplied during the week by arrange-ment beforehand. It provides free boat trips on the Basingstoke Canal (from Woking Town quay), in boats adapted with electric lift for light wheelchairs. Trips are offered to juniors and families may accompany disabled persons. Bookings are required in advance, and volunteer crews are provided. Bookings can be made through Ruth Ray on 01483 761499 during the summertime only. |
